Carter & Carter on £23.4M shopping spree - it must be Christmas!

Well most of us are still thinking about what unwanted presents we will be buying for our loved ones... Carter and Carter know exactly what to buy their share holders another 3 successful training providers just before Christmas. A £23.4 Million shopping spree - I sure hope they are happy with this present... this is a present above star level quality  not even David Beckham would spend £23 Million on a Christmas pressie for Posh!

This new set of acquisitions opens a whole raft of new vertical markets for Carter and Carter, Care with NTP, a strong London contract through Quantica and strengthening the hard to recruit area of Business Improvement Techniques and Engineering with IMS... and if we have heard right this gives Carter and Carter some 3,500 apprentices!!

... but what are your views on Carter and Carter? Are you excited or nervous? More opportunities for learners or do you think we will see a mass consolidation of resources at Carter and Carter? Let us know your views?

Carter and Carter - everytime I hear the name it is about something exciting. Keep your eyes peeled for the latest info on the largest provider in the UK.

"I would recommend FE careers to any work based learning provider who is seeking industry recognised and experienced personnel."

Direct Quote from Metropole College who have been advertising their jobs on FE Careers for a year now (how time flies- I can't belive it is under a month till Christmas!)

We recieve verbal quotes from our advertisers all the time, I just feel a bit funny to use these as quotes - I suppose if I put on my old reporters head then I would be fine with this - but as I currently have on my job advertising on the web FE Careers head then I only want to post up direct written quotes from our clients.

Well Susan Duncan who is the Operations Director at Metropole College wants to sing our praises: Metropole_college

"Metropole College has used FE Careers as its recruitment agent for the last year. The calibre of the applicants we have recieved has been excellent and we have been delighted with the easy stream lined process for advertising

I would recommend FE careers to any work based learning provider who is seeking industry recognised and experienced personnel."

Well Susan very kindly covered it all for us here.  Calibre of candidates is excellent, easy to use and streamlined process. So if you have a vacancy in FE or Work Based Learning - what are you waiting for - advertise on FE Careers today

Captain Exclusive Strikes Again

Captain Exclusive strikes again.... Wearing his pants over his trousers and a tea towel as a cape it is Captain Exclusive fighting the FE cause.

Captain Exclusive's aim is to catapult FE into the limelight, raising Joe Public's perception of FE, what are skills?, what is a level 2?, why should my kids be interested in Vocational Training?, why are Colleges taking on Universities? and why should the public be concerned with lecturer and Assessor pay in our £11 Billion per year melting pot industry that specialises in producing opportunity.

Captain Exclusive is the editor of FE News and this week has provide our readers with 13 Exclusives... 13 Exclusives in a week.

At the start of the week we had Graham Hoyle from the ALP kick off our series on how would you spend the LSC's £11 billion. Then Stephen Williams MP on his £11 billion wish list... and then Steve Murphy who was a recent STAR awards winner - kicked off our Winners Week. This was just Monday - our readers got a taste of the superb week that was to follow.

Tuesday saw Lawrence Miles throw in his two penny's worth on what he'd do with £11 Billion and Robert Randall continues our Winners Week with FE as the poor Cousin in Education.

On Wednesday we had Claire Donovan  with EEF on what she would spend £11 Billion and another winner Patrica Barr talking about Pushing Learners to achieve.

Thursday we had the brilliant Alison West give us an Exclusive on how she would spend £11 Billion and discuss the peculiar definition of Skills.  Maria Rounding another winner lets of the War Cry that Education should be for everybody.

Captain Exclusive gave us all the Friday Feeling with Paul Mackney from the UCU. Did you see his ideas for the £11 billion budget? David Batup, concludes a three part series on the Employer Engagement Coach. Libby James concludes the Winners week, with everyone deserves an award. Jane Machell gives us an Exclusive on plans to monitor students creating a climate of Fear over the scary plans for staff to monitor students in a 1984 style proposal.

Wow, what a week. Captain Exclusive thank you.... and er, can you wear your pants inside your trousers next week??

Advertising jobs on FE Careers is easy- its official!

We have just gained some feedback from YH Training about how easy they found advertising on FE careers to be. Many people always take a deep breath when we show them how to advertise on the website... but once we take the 5 minutes to show them they always say - "that is really, really easy" ... or "I can't believe how straight forward that is"

Funny how many of us see the web to be complex.

Well feedback free from the inbox from Lisa at YH Training further emphasises how easy it is to advertise online with FE Careers: "Have input the 4 vacancies onto the site and am v impressed with how easy it was!"

Lisa was amazed that we wanted to use this quote... but we receive comments on a daily basis about how easy it is to advertise on FE Careers.... at last we have a written quote that we can use. So many people see the functionality, the sophisticated methods of attracting new job seekers etc and then think well that is all very complicated... surely advertising on the site is going to be complicated too! But the feedback from nearly all of our advertisers is quite the opposite.

We are very seriously started the journey for yet another website overhaul... can you think of any other aspects we should add, any methods of simplifying processes etc? All comments will be greatly appreciated!

Protocol Skills advertising with FE Careers. Yet more Trainer and NVQ Assessor jobs

FE Careers has signed up yet another major Training Provider for job advertising and the feedback from Protocol Skills so far has been very positive. So it looks like yet another long term advertising relationship with yet another major NVQ Training provider. As candidates how have you found the Protocol Skills jobs? Any feedback will be passed onto the client? Protocol Skills jobs can be found here

We are very seriously thinking about new developments to the FE Careers site. Any feedback on how we can improve things? This site is developed for you - so all feedback will be very seriously taken.

We are looking for feedback from job seekers, our current advertisers and potential clients in the future.

We were pleased to hear back from YH Training who signed up this week who commented on just how easy it was to advertise their positions:

"Have input the 4 vacancies onto the site and am v impressed with how easy it was!"

It may not seem like much but, this is great feedback for us and future clients. We have worked really hard to set up an advertiser admin area which is really easy and quick to use. Everyone verbally comments on how easy this is to use, but no one yet has made a written comment - so thank you Lisa!

Anyway must dash, clients to set up on the system and general very busyness to be done! Speak to you all soon. We hope you find your perfect match.
